This training on Tuesday 5 February, 10am-1pm at GMYN (Green Fish Resource Centre, 46-50 Oldham Street, Manchester, M4 1LE) will help you develop an approach to train the young people you work with to support one another, whether you are interested in delivering a structured peer-support programme or simply developing peer support skills within an existing group setting.
You will gain resources and understanding to deliver the following activities with young people:
• What is peer support?
• Starting peer support relationships
• Communication skills
• Confidentiality and boundaries
• Goals and action planning
This training is delivered by Andrew Brookfield who has 20 years experience working with young people nine of which involved coordinating and managing mentoring programmes, including a national mentoring and befriending quality standard.
Cost: £35 per place or free for GMYN Members
