Do you work or volunteer with young people in Manchester? Or would you like to? GMYN’S Introduction to Youth Work training is back.
Introduction to Youth Work is a six session training programme that will develop your understanding and skills relating to youth work.
Each session provides an introduction to a different aspect of youth work, including both theoretical and practical applications in a range of youth work settings. You are welcome to attend as many sessions as you choose.

Introduction to Youth Work Values – 15 January
Explore the different definitions of youth work and learn how you can embed the underpinning youth work values into your own practice.

Conversations – 22 January
Look at how you can build responsive relationships with young people, including identifying and managing boundaries.

Planning, Recording and Monitoring – 12 February
Gain insight into the importance and relevance of planning, recording and monitoring youth work, gaining tools and methods of applying it effectively.

Measuring Impact – 19 February
Explore what is meant by evaluation, relative practice and impact, using the example of the Most Significant Change Model.
