Young people involved in formulating and submitting the European Youth Capital bid for 2019 are close to completing this task but need your help.
The bid is centred on three themes, which they firmly believe will result in positive changes for Manchester’s young people. As part of the bid they want to:
- challenge the city to tackle the housing crisis and homelessness, to provide better and cheaper transport, and to improve employment opportunities for young people.
- change the status quo and make sure that the opinions of young people are valued more. This means changing perceptions of young people and giving them a platform to influence the decisions that matter to them.
- celebrate the wonderful diversity of cultures that makes Manchester so special and make a greater effort to get rid of all forms of bullying and discrimination.
